Creche to Primary, Qur'an and a full NERDC curriculum. Admissions open • Omole Phase 1, Lagos

Eight years, compressed into an accelerated journey.

GIFTS' academic pathway runs from a four-year Pre-Primary foundation through a four-year Accelerated Primary programme, in which the standard six-year NERDC curriculum is professionally compressed without cutting corners. Qur'an memorisation runs alongside every year, in the same timetable, to the same standard, for every child.

Programme structure 4 + 4 years
  • 4-year Pre-Primary foundation
  • 4-year Accelerated Primary (6-year NERDC, compressed)
  • 10 periods daily: 5 Qur'an, 5 academic
  • Last 5 Ajza memorised by end of Primary 4
  • Continues into GIFCOH from Year 5

Programme overview — A rigorous, joyful education, rooted in faith.

Phase One, Pre-Primary, comprises Preparatory, Nursery 1, Nursery 2 and Kindergarten, laying the sensory, social, linguistic and spiritual foundation for every GIFTS pupil. Admission into Primary Year 1 requires a child to have attained five and a half years by September of the intake year.

Phase Two, Accelerated Primary, systematically compresses the standard six-year NERDC curriculum into four years, without overburdening the child. Every school day is divided into ten periods: five dedicated to Qur'an and Islamic education, and five periods of forty minutes each dedicated to mainstream academic education.

Across the four Primary years, pupils are expected to memorise the last five Ajza of the Qur'an, Juz 30 through Juz 26, working backward from the shortest, final Surahs. Alongside Hifz, pupils study Tajweed, Arabiyyah, Aqeedah, Fiqh al-Ibadah, Adab and Adhkar with the same daily consistency as any academic subject.

Upon completing Primary Year 4, GIFTS pupils continue into a further two years of largely residential, Project Based Learning — this is not a transfer to another school, it is GIFTS itself, continuing as the Gifted Islamic Foundation College of Huffaz (GIFCOH).

The Hifz milestones — What your child memorises, class by class.

Memorisation proceeds from the shorter, final Surahs of the Qur'an in the Pre-Primary years, moving progressively backward through the Mus'haf as pupils advance — a sequencing chosen for its confidence-building effect on young reciters.

Pre-PrimaryPrep to Kindergarten

An-Nas through Al-A'la

Prep and Nursery 1 memorise An-Nas to Al-Fil (10 Surahs, approx. 3.5 pages); Nursery 2 continues through Ash-Sharh; Kindergarten reaches Al-A'la.

  • 28 short Surahs memorised across the four Pre-Primary years
  • Confidence-building sequence from the shortest Surahs
Primary 1At-Tariq to An-Naba

6 Surahs across three terms

At-Tariq to Al-Buruj, then Al-Inshiqaq to Al-Mutaffifin, then Al-Infitar to At-Takwir — around 5.5 pages for the year.

  • Termly progression with continuous revision
Primary 2Al-Mursalat to Al-Mulk

11 Surahs across three terms

Al-Mursalat to Al-Muddaththir, then Al-Muzzammil to Al-Ma'arij, then Al-Haqqah to Al-Mulk — around 20 pages for the year.

  • Earlier Surahs maintained through dedicated revision
Primary 3–4At-Tahrim to Al-Ahqaf

The last 5 Ajza completed

By the end of Primary 4, pupils complete Juz 30 through Juz 26 (At-Tahrim to Al-Ahqaf), memorised to the school's required standard.

  • Ready to complete the remaining 25 Ajza at GIFCOH
  • A daily Qur'an Diary tracks progress throughout

Memorisation quantities are programme targets, adjusted to each child's placement, consistency and individual capacity.
